As the winningest coach at the University of Minnesota in women’s basketball history and now an ICF Senior Executive Coach, Pam brings a unique combination of executive experience to help take her clients to the Next Level. Whether it’s in Big Ten athletics or corporate America, Pam knows how to successfully navigate the perils of a highly visible and public position. Handling pressure, scrutiny, and high expectations taught Pam what it takes to thrive in a fast-changing and extremely competitive environment.
In 2014, Coach Pam Borton transitioned from the University of Minnesota after 12 years as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. With 27 years coaching Division I basketball, including 12 years in the Big Ten, she led her teams to a Final Four, an Elite Eight, three straight Sweet Sixteen’s, and numerous NCAA tournament appearances. Her specific focus (besides winning) was developing leaders, assembling high performing teams, recruiting, motivating, and hiring quality people throughout her entire career. She successfully developed leaders both on and off the court using a coaching model focused on strengths and values. She has developed many elite players and former assistants who are now leading their own programs or organizations. Pam has a Master’s degree in Sport Management from Bowling Green State University, and an advanced certification in personal and executive coaching from the College of Executive Coaching in Santa Barbara, CA. She is certified in the Everything DiSC, EQI 2.0, and customized 360 assessment tools. She is also certified and a member of the International Coach Federation.
