Chair of the Caign to Help Afghan Women and Girls, Philanthropist, Feminist and the wife of talk show host Jay Leno
Mavis Nicholson Leno is the Chair of the Feminist Majority Foundation's Caign to Help Afghan Women and Girls, and has been the United States' most outspoken critic of the Taliban's horrific treatment of women. Leno joined the Board of Directors of the Feminist Majority Foundation in 1997, after playing an active role in the effort to defeat Proposition 209, the anti-affirmative action initiative on the 1996 California ballot.
