One of the biggest challenges leaders and team members struggle with is trying to perform at a high level while balancing a full calendar, insurmountable to-dos, and the ever-present guilt of maintaining some sort of personal life in the process.

The reality is that the science behind high performance indicates that doing less, strategically, not more, is the key to high performance.
Dr. Lauren Hodges is passionate about helping others reach their highest potential, whether at work in their roles or at home in those relationships that matter the most.

Her keynotes blend storytelling with science-backed health, well-being, and performance sciences principles. She is a thought leader in stress, burnout, and well-being.

A researcher by trade, she uses her expertise and the ability to inspire, connect, and motivate, leaving her audiences with actionable strategies they can use immediately.

As the chief curriculum designer behind corporate wellness programs for Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute, Estee Lauder, Thrive Global, and Accenture, Dr. Lauren knows that corporate wellness is not just about physical health; it's about creating a work environment that supports the overall wellbeing of employees.

She co-founded Performance on Purpose LLC., a performance coaching company focused on advancing leadership and performance potential. Lauren has her doctorate in curriculum design from The University of Central Florida (Charge On, Knights!) and certifications in coaching, strength and conditioning, and performance nutrition as well as an advanced certificate in Neuroscience for Business from MIT Sloane School of Management.

She considers her most important role as mom to two boys, Jake and Ryder, and partner to her husband, Daniel. Together they reside on the Florida coast, the perfect place for their outdoor lifestyle. Lauren enjoys hiking, surfing, traveling, exercising, and competing in triathlons.

Speech Titles and Descriptions:

WHAT IS YOUR STRESS PERSONALITY?

Our workforce is more stressed than ever before in our history. Most often, when we experience stress, our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are completely out of our control. When we aren’t in the driver’s seat of our stress, it can quickly derail our ability to show up at our best at work, but also at home, where it matters most.

What if there was a way to get back in the driver’s seat of your stress and improve your performance at work, at home, and in your relationships at the same time?

There is: and it’s a tool you can use anytime, anywhere.

Recent research has revealed fascinating new insights about stress and the brain - and how we’re all uniquely wired to experience stress in different ways.

In this interactive, engaging session, Dr. Hodges will share 8 different stress personalities, how they show up, and recovery from negative stress experiences, and will provide guidance on proactive recovery strategies.

Participants will:

  • Understand the different types of stress personalities
  • Identify their own unique stress personality and how it impacts their ability to show up at their best personally and professionally
  • Identify new techniques that leverage brain sciences to transform their experience of stress

BRAIN TRAINING: MASTER YOUR WORK RHYTHM

Sometimes our workload and daily demands feel endless: the to-do’s, calls, meetings, projects, planning, birthdays, kids’ sports schedules…the list goes on. How often do your days leave you feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and disengaged from the people and things that matter the most?

Did you know that there is brain science as to why you feel this way? And, there’s a way to combat it? The science of cognition, stress, and human performance provides us new insights about why we aren’t meant to go full force all day, and what we truly need to be high performers at work and in life.

In this session, you will learn a new framework to rethink what it means to perform, recover, and thrive. Dr. Hodges will use brain and human performance sciences to tell the story of burnout and offer tools you can use right away to have more energy, feel less stressed, and take your performance to the next level.

Participants will:

  • Identify tools to recharge energy, focus, and attention
  • Leverage brain science to build new work habits that drive high performance, not burnout
  • Increase energy, build resilience, and thrive at work and in life with small changes that lead to lasting results

AGILITY: YOUR LONG-TERM GAMEPLAN FOR THRIVING THROUGH STRESS

Did you know there is a formula to truly thriving in life? What does it really take to move from merely bracing for whatever happens to us each day and reacting to the challenges to taking control over our lives and moving to a place of sustained growth and high performance…no matter what happens to us?

How do we move from reactive and “bouncing back” from stress, challenge, and change to leveling up in life? That’s where Agility comes in.

Agility is more than being resilient: it’s a formula for real, sustainable change and thriving in our lives.

Why Agility? Because it’s not just a word reserved for elite athletes and supercharged workouts. Agility is about maneuvering and even thriving through stress and storms. An agile person is self-aware: they have the right mindset for success, a vision of what they want to be and what matters most, and they create an environment to be that person most of the time.

Agility doesn’t happen overnight; it’s a rewiring of your brain.

In this session, you’ll learn a formula to build that agility along with simple techniques to help you create new habits and mindset to support lasting change. This is the first step to putting yourself back in the driver’s seat of your own success.

“Dr. Hodges was our speaker for an incredible 2-hour virtual workshop for over 800+ attendees. She provided useful, relevant, and tactical tools for our attendees. Since the workshop, we’ve had several of our attendees reach out to say they’ve already implemented tools that Dr. Hodges recommended during her presentation. Highly recommend!”

- Morgan S., Women Lead Change

“Lauren led our team at 321 The Agency through Performance on Purpose's fundamentals training on both the science behind stress and the practical tools we can immediately implement into our workplaces to support our mental health. After a year of working remote and a very busy start of 2021, we'll admit that some of us were feeling a bit burnt out! For many employees, hearing Lauren validate the feeling of stress and its impact on their selves mentally and physically, was a much-needed moment that moved them from a space of feeling disjointed into a space of feeling control over ways to manage it. The combination of information and action was really helpful. I really recommend Lauren's expertise and insights for any team of humans.”

- Chelsea S., 321 The Agency

“We at FlightSafety place high value on our employees’ health and well-being – in a time of ever-increasing healthcare costs. Experiences like this not only serve to show our team that we care about them personally, but we also consider Lauren’s team a long-term return on investment. We’d highly recommend the team to any employer looking to increase the value of his or her business through an investment in employee health and wellness.”

- Greg W., FlightSafety International

“Lauren is the most knowledgeable employee I have ever worked with on the topics of well-being, mental health, and performance. Her grasp of the research is overwhelming - there is never a moment where she doesn’t offer a study, a case, or a story that brings a complicated concept to light. I can think of no one more perfect to help engage your initiative.”

- Stephanie H., Thrive Global Holdings LLC

“Lauren is a top-notch speaker, facilitator, and presenter who engages her audience by blending knowledge and science with practical application. She leaves the audience with clear steps for applying the material in a way that will help improve their performance and overall well-being. I highly recommend Lauren to any business, organization, or team looking to learn, lead, and perform well.”

- Jeremy C., Palm Beach Atlantic University

“Dr. Lauren Hodges is brilliant. Her approach to helping nonprofits address behavioral health, coaching, and other challenges has changed the landscape in the California Central Valley. Lauren and her team of experts have helped bring sanity in the midst of a pandemic. Every foundation CEO should want to meet and understand the significance of what the Hodges' Team can do - and has done for public school leaders, professionals, and others across the California Central Valley. Respect, admiration, and excellence are three words I use to describe Dr. Lauren Hodges.”

- Jeffrey L., Legacy Health Endowment and EMC HEALTH FOUNDATION

“Lauren has worked with many levels of leadership throughout Covenant Living Communities and Services over the past 2 years. She has not only presented at large group meetings; she has provided 1:1 coaching to executive leaders throughout our organization. Much of Lauren’s teaching has been through video conferencing, especially during the pandemic. Her video sessions are as interactive as they would be in person. Lauren is also an excellent conference speaker and captures the audience with her broad knowledge and science and data to back up her recommendations. Whether in a large group or 1:1, Lauren always encourages her clients (although she treats clients like friends) to identify a “too simple to fail” change or “micro changes”. Several weeks and months later, I still hear members of our team reference her teachings and sharing changes they’ve experienced because of her impact. Lauren is a life-changer! I’ve experienced the changes myself in many ways personally and professionally! Thank you, Lauren, for your impact on Covenant Living leaders and me!”

- Terri C., Covenant Living Communities

“I worked with Lauren for a year in developing Thriving Mind, a mental health eLearning experience for Thrive Global, which we rolled out with our launch partner, Accenture, to over 500K employees in 8 languages. Lauren was hands down the most talented, experienced instructional designer and I’ve ever worked with. But I’d be remiss to call her just that - Lauren took on ownership of parts of the project far beyond her initial scope of work to ensure success of the program, including direct client comms, project management, technical implementation, global translations and inclusion and accessibility needs. She also developed a beautiful and robust suite of course resources and a library of supplemental content. Lauren is one of my favorite people to work with because of her airtight expertise and positive disposition, but also because I know that through challenges with the client or against tight deadlines, I can 100% rely on Lauren to deliver -- and over-deliver at that. I can’t wait until the day I get to work with her on another project…the company is always looking for ways to engage her!”

- Summer M., Thrive Global

“I cannot say enough about how beneficial working with Lauren has been for me personally and professionally. She is a skilled C-level coach who fully understands the research around stress and its effects on a person's mind-body-spirit. She is able to translate the research into actions that are both effective and do-able. I especially appreciate that she helps me think through goals and actions, and then applies the right ratio of encouragement to accountability to keep me focused on my well-being so that I can lead well.”
